Depth of field is cool. It's impossible to tell that this was shot through a chain-link fence.
My friend Matt wanted to go night shooting, so I introduced him to my favorite place in all of Oakland-- Middle Harbor Park, down in the Port of Oakland. When ships are loading at the closest cranes, you can watch them from just a few feet away. There are also totally awesome views of San Francisco, the Bay Bridge, and the Alameda Naval Air Station. Plus there are always interesting boats and ships on the estuary.
But shhhhhh! Nobody knows the park is there, so it's almost always empty.
